Glasdon Group Limited has evolved from the single one man business founded over 50 years ago by the Group Chairman, Donald J Sidebottom MBE.

With present turnover exceeding £35 million and the number of employees exceeding 300, the hallmarks of success have been proved to be total personal commitment and unrestricted emphasis on innovation, quality and customer service.  Team spirit is fostered at all levels of the Group and employees are encouraged to participate in the development and growth of the business and share in its success.

Fifty Years of Progress

50 years ago a small company convinced of the potential of plastic material sold a halt sign, that never needed painting, to a local authority.  The company was Glasdon. it pioneered the use of plastic material for road signs and street furniture, which offered low cost and long life compared to conventional materials.  The use of low maintenance plastic, for this application, was an early demonstration of the innovative flair which has characterised the company ever since.  Today, with its continuing focus on pioneering product design, Glasdon remains a market leader in the supply of environmental and safety products.

With 50 years of experience, Glasdon’s in-house design team has gained vast knowledge in all aspects of product design and material selection.  The department utilises the very latest computer aided design technology, with 3-D modeling. Independent product testing also helps to ensure that Glasdon products meet our customers’ exacting standards in terms of aesthetics, function and service life.
